Skara Brae named one of UK's 'must-see' sites

The Orcadian, Thursday 16th February, 2012

Skara Brae has been voted by visitors as one of the "must-see" attractions in the British Isles.  The Neolithic site was one of only eight attractions in the UK to receive a merit award as voted by customers of tour operator, CIE tours.

Skara Brae's manager, Mary Dunnett, said:"We work extremely hard at Skara Brae, and with the wider team at Historic Scotland, to bring the visitor experience to life through vivid recreations of the realitiies of prehistoric life.  This includes a replica of one of the houses which transports people back to the Neolithic age, and our information centre with interactive exhibits and artefacts from archaeological digs."
